Congratulations to Petrina Price

Athletics Wollongong member Petrina Price on has been selected in the Australian team to compete in the 12th IAAF World Championships to be held in Berlin during August 2009. Petrina earned her selection by winning the Women’s High Jump at the Australian Athletics Championships in March with a jump of 1.87m, and by reaching the ‘B’ qualifying mark of 1.91m twice throughout the 2008-09 season.

Not surprisingly, Petrina won the ‘Most Outstanding Field Athlete’ award at the recent Athletics Wollongong Presentation Evening.

As a result of her selection in the Australian team, Petrina has also been awarded the Athletics Wollongong Athlete’s Scholarship for 2009-10. This is an annual award which recognises the achievements of Athletics Wollongong members who gain selection in an Australian representative athletics team.

NSW Masters Championships

The final event on the ANSW summer season was held at The Crest, Bankstown on 28th & 29th March. Athletics Wollongong competitors had a very enjoyable and succcessful weekend. For a complete list of their results, click here.
