Be at Athletics Wollongong on Wednesday, 3rd February for the third running of the 200m Zoom.  $200 will be given away courtesy of Club Legend Peter Gandy and his company Process Integrations.

$50 will go to each of the fastest male and female 200m runners.  Another $50 will go to each of two lucky lane drawer winners.  Anyone who participates in the event can win!

The 200m will be run a little different than normal with the heats seeded by time and segregated into male and female races.  Note that prizemoney can only be won by Athletics Wollongong members.

Why a 200m?  Event sponsor Peter Gandy is keen to promote sprinting among local athletes.  As a Club member, Peter was selected in the Australian team for the 1980 Moscow Olympics in the 200m and 4x100m relay.  Unfortunately, he wouldn't compete due to injury, but he would go on to represent Australia at Brisbane's 1982 Commonwealth Games.  He's still on Australia's All-Time Ranking List for 200m, now sitting in 31st position with his best performance of 20.66s (he also ran a 20.3s manually timed; you can read more regarding Peter's career here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/AW60th/permalink/229345961251122/).
