AW wins an award!

Published Wed 25 Aug 2021

AW has won the ‘Club Development Award of the Year’ as part of Athletics NSW's 2020/21 Season Awards.  It was noted that there were a couple of things that got us over the line: a very successful performance at NSW Junior Championships, in particular, as well as the strong recognition of our athletes' performances that we made through awards and via social media.

Athletics NSW produced an article on our club for their website: https://www.nswathletics.org.au/news/athletics-nsw-club-development-award-winner/

Their Facebook post included many previously unseen photos: https://www.facebook.com/AthleticsNSW/posts/5326551224040184

The initial awards announcement from ANSW:

What a year for NSW it's been, in every sense of the word. 💙

In the face of adversity, our athletes, coaches, administrators and officials have shown astonishing dedication, resilience and drive, which has led to extraordinary outcomes for our sport on and off the track.

This year's Athletics NSW Awards - unfortunately unable to be held physically - recognises the acheivements of a number of individuals that have captured the essence of Athletics over the past 12 months (up until & including the 2021 National Championships) which saw not only a mostly uninterrupted Summer Season proceed in NSW, but a stunning 2021 National Athletics Championships with our NSW athletes rising to the occasion in all junior & open age groups.

We'd like to congratulate not only every award recipient this year, but each and every member of the NSW Athletics Community that has made the 2020/21 Season very, very special.
