Athletics Wollongong's Christmas Special is this Wednesday December 18th.

Along with our regular pointscore events, we'll be having a free BBQ for our members and their supporters.  In the spirit of the season, we're also asking people to bring along a plate of food to share.

The program will feature two special events: the 60m Skins and 800m Chocolate Run.

The 60m Skins is a handicapped series of races.  Each round the last runner/s across the line are knocked out, with the remainder of the field heading back to the start with very little recovery before the next round.  This event tests fitness and will culminate in a head-to-head battle to determine the group winner.

The 800m Chocolate Run is an AW classic with every participant running the full distance but slower runners getting a timed headstart.  Our fastest 800m stars will give up almost a lap, as we discover how much of a performance enhancement the prospect of a chocolate prize is for some.
